Having a healthy baby is the hope of every parent. Expectant mothers and fathers await the baby's arrival with both anxiety and excitement, but sometimes complications arise with a pregnancy or a birth. In these difficult situations, you have the help of a 174-person health care team in the Alta Bates Level III Newborn Intensive Care Unit.
The Wayne and Gladys Valley Foundation Newborn Intensive Care Unit provides an exceptional place for newborns to receive the special care they need. Our unique, recently-expanded, NICU was designed by parents, physicians and nurses to make you comfortable as well as enable the staff to effectively treat your newborn.
