Immunization and Exam Guidelines
Immunizations/Vaccinations
- Hep A: Hepatitis A - Children and adolescents not previously immunizided should receive the hepatitis A vaccine series - two doses delivered 6-12 months apart.
- Hep B: Hepatitis B - Children and adolescents not previously immunized should receive the hepatitis B vaccine series - two to three does delivered depending on age and product.
- HIB: Hemophilus influenza type B - The need for HIB dose at six months varies depending on product
- MMR: Measles, Mumps and Rubella.
- dT/TaP: Diphtheria, Tetanus and acellular Pertussis - Tdap currently not recommended for 11-18 month olds.
- Td: Adult Diphtheria and Tetanus
- VZV: Chickenpox (Varicella Zoster Virus) - Persons 13 years or older should receive vaccine series - two doses delivered 4-8 weeks apart.
- Pneu: Pneumococcal vaccination - Children 24-59 months, not previously immunized should receive an age appropriate single dose of pneumoccocal vaccine.
- Flu (Influenza): Recommend annual vaccination for children age 6 months to 2 years during October and November. The initial vaccination, requires two shots given four weeks apart.

Exams and Check Ups
A regularly scheduled exam by a physician is recommended at each of the following ages:
Months:
1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12 and 18
Years:
2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17
Other Tests
A PPD skin test is required at five years, and is optional at 12 months and 15 years, in areas of average risk for tuberculosis.
For sexually active females, a chlamydia screening is recommended annually and a Pap smear every one-three years
